Sidenote: If you’re travelling as a family or larger group and want to learn together, that’s not a problem. We simply provide you with more instructors to keep the overall ratio at a maximum of 4:1.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Your Open Water Diver course consists of three key phases:
- Dive Theory: You’ll learn about dive physics, safety, planning, and underwater communication, and cover all the essential rules for scuba diving on Koh Tao and beyond.
- Confined Water Training: You’ll practice essential scuba skills in our purpose-built saltwater training pool, helping you feel comfortable and confident before progressing to the open water.
- Open Water Dives: You’ll complete four ocean dives at some of the best Koh Tao diving sites. Your first two dives will be to a maximum depth of 12 meters, and you can go to 18 meters on dives three and four.
As a Koh Tao dive centre with a reputation for being family-friendly, we welcome the opportunity to train adults and children together. However, please note that children under 12 are restricted to a maximum depth of 12 meters, and students under 15 will receive a Junior Open Water Diver certification.
